What’s New: Museum on Main
In the Tri-Valley Area, the Museum on Main remains one of the regions most intriguing cultural attractions. From the Livermore CA apartments to beyond, people regularly venture to its quaint Pleasanton location to check out the spectacular exhibits, enjoy the engaging educational programs, and take part in the various special events that dot the calendar. Like any good museum, they’ve always got something new and exciting on the horizon, and today, we’ll be taking a look at some recently added and upcoming attractions you’ll want to keep your eye on.
The Next Installment of “A Discussion With”
The Museum on Main regularly puts on presentations and lectures for notable local figures — artists, writers, and other paragons of the community. Coming soon, on September 19th, they’ll be hosting a talk with Dublin-based author and historian Steven Minnear. He’ll there to chat about his newest book, Dublin, California: A Brief History, and as a noted expert on the topic, will have plenty of insights to share about how the town came to be, what it was like in those early days, and stories that dot it’s long history.
Being a place of learning, it should come as no surprise that the Museum on Main regularly puts on reading times and cultural enrichment programs for the youth. This September, they’ll be hosting their Celebrate Community program, with a special reading time on September 11th, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. In addition to the free time to gather and read, they’ll also be putting on a fun-filled Family day on September 28th, where they’ll be helping celebrate the history and accomplishments of Pleasanton’s sister city — Tulancingo, Mexico.
Ghost Walk 2019
The Ghost Walk is an annual favorite, and will be back in full swing on October 18th, 19th, 25th, and 26th. these guided ghost tours will begin with some background on ghosts and paranormal activity in the town of Pleasanton (and beyond), then, guides will take participants throughout Pleasanton’s most haunted sites, providing plenty of backstory along the way, along with some possible opportunities to spot some ghosts in action.
Exhibits Coming in Fall
What kind of museum would it be if there were no exhibits? The Museum on Main is well-known for its History Gallery (where you can view the story of the Tri-Valley and how it has transformed over its many years in existence) and the Kid’s Corner is always a big hit with the kids. They’ve also got two new exhibits lined up for October and November: Phobias, and Pleasanton at 125.
